Teaching in classrooms across the hall from one another, our relationship started professional-- sharing teaching ideas and giving the kind of support teacher colleagues give each other.

...and then things began to change.

Alicia remembers the night that she went to her regular drop-in volleyball and reported to some friends,

"...the teacher across the hall touched my arm today. He hasn't done that before. I think it means something."

And it did. He liked her. She liked him. One date turned into more, and more turned into plans to go away to Tofino during spring break.

James knew he wanted to marry Alicia on that trip.

And it turns out, she wanted to marry him too.
